PQ Energy has been in the business of energy management since 1972. We installed our first microprocessor in 1976 and have since dedicated ourselves to facility automation and facility automation only. PQ is not a mechanical contractor that does energy management as a sideline, nor is PQ an electrical contractor that installs an occasional energy management system per contractual specifications. PQ has found over the years that listening to the customer and designing a system from scratch around each facility's particular needs has been the best approach. Each system PQ installs is the result of many hours of engineering, meetings with customer personnel, and many visits to the facility itself. After a system is designed, PQ applies the system to print with our in-house CAD. We, at that time, choose a local qualified contractor to do the electrical wiring and terminations under the direct supervisor of our own on-site project manager. Upon completion of installation, PQ's own personnel are dispatched to perform the final testing. When we determine that the system is installed and tested to our satisfaction, we will schedule the customer's personnel for training. When the customer's personnel feel they are comfortable with the program, PQ considers the installation complete. This is where we feel our real experience comes in to play. For the first 30 days, PQ will simulate the existing control conditions to determine the strengths and weaknesses within the system and develop specific programs. Our company, on a 24-hour basis, 7 days a week, will support the system throughout the first year. Our customer will receive a monthly report on savings generated, along with a monthly review of all service calls, program changes, and items we feel should be brought to the customer's attention. We offer service agreements for years two through five at a frozen non-escalating cost that includes all parts, labor, materials and monthly reports. Our service agreements go further than just maintaining the PQ system. Because we feel it is important to maintain state-of-the-art technology, PQ also provides biennial updates to the system software, provided the service agreement is maintained. Our goal is to service a system that will provide the customer with the ability to meet your future requirements and needs for expansion. We have found that the downfall of most installations of energy management systems is that the customer purchased a name, and the hardware associated with that name, at a premium cost. In most cases, upon completion of the installation, the maintenance personnel received a manual and a brief seminar, with no further support without additional cost. This results in a system that eventually goes by the wayside as years go by and company personnel change. We feel that providing a service instead of merely hardware is the key to our success and longevity with our customers. |
